New York Times Editor Named Executive Editor Of Politico

Longtime editor Rick Berke is leaving the New York Times to serve as the next executive editor of Politico, the news organizations announced Thursday.

Berke will replace Jim VandeHei in the exectuive role at the Washington-centric publication. VandeHei is shifting over to CEO of Politico and Capital New York, which Politico purchased last month.
