The New York City vendor who alerted police in 2010 of an attempted car bombing in Times Square is running for Congress.

Duane Jackson told the AP that the incident in Times Square was “kind of an epiphany.” After receiving praise for alerting the authorities, Jackson said, “I can tell people, especially young people in the minority communities, it’s OK to get involved in the running of this country.”
