The New York Post and the New York Daily News on Tuesday had fun needling Mayor Michael Bloomberg over a judge’s ruling to strike down the city’s ban on large-sized sugary beverages.
“Judge cans nanny’s ban on soda sweet big sodas,” read the Post’s headline, placed next to a photo of a man triumphantly pouring a bottle of Coca-Cola into a large cup of soda.
The Daily News took a more direct approach, with its headline asserting that the Manhattan judge told Bloomberg to “suck it.” Its cover included an edited photo of Bloomberg slurping on a large soda.
