A magazine published by the National Rifle Association now ranks in the top 25 magazines in America by circulation.

The magazine, American Rifleman, is one of several that NRA members can opt to receive as part of their membership. Ad Age reported on Thursday that the magazine saw an average circulation of 2.2 million in the second half of 2013, according to numbers released by the Alliance for Audited Media. The 2.2 million figure was up from 1.7 million during the second half of 2012.

A spokesperson for the NRA told Ad Age that the increased circulation reflects the NRA’s surge in membership.

“Last year we had a 25% growth in membership,” spokespersonn Andrew Arulanandam said. “People who sign up for membership get their choice of one of three official journals for the NRA. American Rifleman is one of the more popular journals that we have.”
