A North Carolina man was shot to death allegedly by his 11-year-old grandson Monday night after the man shot his son during a family dispute, Raleigh TV station WRAL reported.

Vance County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in Kittrell, N.C. at about 7 p.m., according to WRAL. Investigators said Lloyd Woodlief, 84, had shot his 49-year-old son with a .22-caliber pistol. Woodlief was then shot once by his grandson with a 12-gauge shotgun, they said.

Deputies determined that Lloyd Woodlief died a short time after being shot and his son, Lloyd Peyton Woodlief, was taken to a local medical center for treatment.

The investigation was ongoing and charges were pending, according to WRAL.

  1. The NRA will include this in its bogus stats as a successful home defense. But I think I’m going to need to see a Venn diagram for this one.

  2. The only way to stop a BAD GRAMPA with a gun…

  3. Please check your grammar: “shot to death by his 11 year-old grandson who shot his son…” An 11 year-old had a son?

  4. Libs will be here any minute now, tisk-tisking in disapproval and saying if only Bloomberg would stop “attacking the Constitution” by promoting gun regulations and spend his money instead on ads telling family members not to shoot other family members during arguments that might otherwise have ended as shoving matches this might not have happened. Plus since an 11-year-old used a gun that proves gun-control laws don’t work and who you gonna believe anyway, Libs or the lying statistics?
