On Wednesday’s episode, “The Nightly Show” predicted that numerous black actors would be snubbed for Academy Award nominations, but on Thursday night’s episode, host Larry Wilmore announced only white actors received nominations.

“In 20 acting nominations, there’s not one non-white person,” Wilmore said. “Jesus, 2016 Oscars nominations. I haven’t seen a list this white since, well, the 2015 Oscar nominees.”

But at least Straight Outta Compton, the film about the rap group NWA, got a nomination for screenwriting, Wilmore said.

“As I’m about to stand and say, ‘Finally,’ I barely got the ‘ally’ out of my mouth, I learned the writers were white,” Wilmore. “That’s not right, Academy. You did that shit on purpose.”

Black lives don’t matter, black actors don’t matter and black movies don’t matter and the proof is the lack of comments here. Nobody gives a shit about black folks. Shame on us

  2. Who needs validation from an awards show created by white people to celebrate other white people? Again you have the BET Awards, NAACP Image Awards, the Soul Train Awards…

  3. More accurately

The Oscars don’t matter, the proof is in the lack of comments in this thread. No one gives a shit about Hollywood sucking its own collective dick for a few hours, hurray for us.

  4. So, we should have affirmative action for the Oscars? Set minimums for the number of nominees from each race? Where does this lead?
