The Romney campaign released a new TV ad Sunday in which they use press footage to claim that President Obama’s campaign is excessively negative. The ad prominently features a clip of CBS’s “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer asking “whatever happened to hope and change?”

“[W]hen the president was elected, he talked about hope and change,” Schieffer says in the ad. “Whatever happened to hope and change? Now it seems he’s just coming right out of the box with these old-fashioned, negative ads.”

Footage of New York Times columnist David Brooks and TIME’s Mark Halperin is also featured in the ad.

The theme of the ad plays well with the Romney campaign’s recent strategy of bringing the integrity of Obama campaign into question. Earlier this week, the campaign responded to attacks on Romney’s record at Bain Capital by calling Obama dishonest.
