The Obama campaign released a new TV ad Friday night aimed squarely at turning women off to the Mitt Romney-Paul Ryan ticket. The ad attacks Romney and Ryan for supporting an end to goverment funding for Planned Parenthood and for their opposition to abortion. The ties Romney to Ryan’s opposition to abortion even in the case of rape and incest (Ryan has said he supports abortion rights in cases where the mother’s life is at stake “in some cases,” according to PolitiFact.)

Ryan’s abortion stance puts him to the right of Romney who supports abortion rights in the case “of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother,” according to an essay he published in National Review in 2011. The Obama campaign ad ties Romney to Ryan’s views, as Democrats have done since Ryan was announced as Romney’s running mate.
