The New Hampshire Republican Party has banned the pro-Democratic super PAC American Bridge after it accidentally had a tracker taping Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) at a memorial service over the weekend.
The New Hampshire GOP announced Monday that the super PAC was banned “from all party events” going forward. The memorial event was for New Hampshire politician Ray Burton who died in November.
“It’s sad that a Democrat-affiliated group like American Bridge would politicize a memorial service and use this non-partisan event to try and score cheap political points,” NHGOP Chairman Jennifer Horn said in a statement on Monday.
Horn added that the NH GOP “we will encourage all candidates, and local Republican committees to remove American Bridge staff from their events.”
Shortly after the announcement on Monday American Bridge tweeted out that a tracker, who follows and tapes a lawmaker of the opposing party, was there by mistake.
Once American Bridge found out about the tracker’s presence at the event he was told to leave and delete the footage, according to a Democratic official.
As a matter of policy, we do not attend those types of events. There was a miscommunication with our staff on the ground in NH… (1/2)
