Former Sen. Bob Kerrey has launched a new ad in his comeback bid in the Nebraska Senate race, in which the Democrat is reintroducing himself to voters in the deep-red state. The ad features a series of supporters discussing Kerrey’s life story and military background.
“‘Bob Kerrey’s not afraid of anything.’ ‘Bob Kerrey put his life on the line for the country.’ ‘He was a good soldier — he was a SEAL.’ ‘He’s a leader — he earned the Congressional Medal of Honor.’ ‘And losing part of his leg, he certainly showed the determination that this country really admires and respects.’ ‘Bob Kerrey understands in a very personal way that freedom is not free.’ ‘We need somebody who puts country before politics.’ ‘We’re in political gridlock, and Bob Kerrey get can beyond that.'”
Kerrey himself then speaks: “I will not flinch from telling you the truth, and I will work with both parties.”
