The FBI says the two brothers and suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing killed an MIT police officer, injured a transit officer in a firefight and threw explosive devices at police during a getaway attempt in a long night of violence that left Tamerlan dead and Dzhokhar still at large on Friday, April 19, 2013. The ethnic Chechen brothers lived in Dagestan, which borders the Chechnya region in southern Russia. An FBI agent overnight reportedly killed a Florida man who had been interviewed for his connections with the two alleged Boston Marathon bombers, according to a report published Wednesday by NBC News.

The victim, Ibragim Todashev, had been interviewed by FBI officials for his association with Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, NBC reported.

In a statement provided to NBC, FBI Special Agent Dave Couvertier said that the shootout took place in Orlando, Fla.

Update: ABC News reported that “aggressive movement” led to the shooting, which came after the FBI had been questioning Todashev.
