An FBI agent overnight reportedly killed a Florida man who had been interviewed for his connections with the two alleged Boston Marathon bombers, according to a report published Wednesday by NBC News.
The victim, Ibragim Todashev, had been interviewed by FBI officials for his association with Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, NBC reported.
In a statement provided to NBC, FBI Special Agent Dave Couvertier said that the shootout took place in Orlando, Fla.
Update: ABC News reported that “aggressive movement” led to the shooting, which came after the FBI had been questioning Todashev.
