Police responded Tuesday morning to reports of an active shooter at the Naval Medical Center near Balboa Park in San Diego, KGTV reported. No injuries were reported.
One witness heard three shots in the basement of Building 26, which house a gym and barracks, around 8 a.m. local time, a statement from the Navy Region Southwest said. First responders were on the scene, and the hospital remained on lockdown.
Reporters on the scene witnessed a SWAT team storming the building around 8:45 a.m. Officers were conducting a room-by-room search of the facility but there were no reports that a suspect had been found.

The medical center posted to Facebook an “active shooter” had been reported, and advised anyone in the building “to run, hide, or fight.”
