Indiana state Treasurer Richard Mourdock, who is challenging longtime Sen. Dick Lugar in today’s Republican primary, cast his ballot this morning, and looked ahead to the general election.
The Evansville Courier & Press reports:
“I thought I would have this surge of emotion of joy and happiness and all, but honestly the emotion is really more about the end of a long run,” said Mourdock, who arrived at the polls with his wife, Marilyn, and will travel to Central Indiana later today.
“We know if we do as we’re expected to do today, it all starts again tomorrow,” Mourdock said before casting his vote. “We’re reasonably optimistic and looking forward to this evening.”
