Oregon candidate for Senate Dr. Monica Wehby (R) announced her support for same-sex marriage in a new ad released Tuesday.
The ad is meant to rebuff attacks by her opponent, Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) that she’s an ultra conservative Republican.
In the new ad, Ben West, who was a plaintiff in the lawsuit that helped strike down the state’s ban on same-sex marriage in 2014, describes how marrying his now husband was “the happiest day of my life” and that Wehby has “the courage to do what’s right.”
West is a Republican and his husband Paul Rummell is a Democrat, according to Politico, which first reported the ad. Watch the ad below:
The TPM Polltracker average gives Merkely a 19 point advantage over Wehby.
Hey look, LBJ acted like a total homophobe while Lincoln shared a bed with a male bodyguard, so Republicans have always been the pro-gay rights party. That’s how the right-wing logic will go a decade from now, right?
Another TP nut changing messages in mid-stream. The GOP senate candidates across the country are trying to mobilize voters outside the insane bubble.
The only problem, the messages are very later or lacking in tone. For instance, a guy named Ben, a media outlet named Politico and a quack named Monica.
Sorry, nutter. It doesn’t take a squirrel to figure out what’s under your camouflage.
