President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team announced Thursday that Fox News commentator Monica Crowley would join his administration’s National Security Council.
Crowley, who will be the NSC’s senior director of strategic communications, had been a Fox News contributor since 2008 and was an analyst for the network from 1998 to 2004, according to a bio on the network’s website. She also worked as a foreign policy assistant and communications director for former President Richard Nixon from 1990 until his death in 1994.
A Fox News spokesperson confirmed to TPM in an email that Crowley’s contract has been terminated.
Crowley, a longtime Trump supporter, caused a stir on social media in October 2015 when she posted a picture of the Berlin Wall on Twitter with the caption, “Walls work.”

She joins another Fox News alumna, K.T. McFarland, in the Trump administration. McFarland was appointed Trump’s deputy national security adviser.
In the same statement, Trump’s transition team announced that retired Army Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg would serve as the NSC’s chief of staff and executive secretary.
“She also worked as a foreign policy assistant and communications director for former President Richard Nixon from 1990 until his death in 1994.”
Uh, oh, she has too much experience for the job!
I wonder if her brother in law, Alan Colmes will be used as one of her character witnesses.
