Mitt Romney Wins New Hampshire Primary

A squeaker this one was not. Fox News and CNN have projected Mitt Romney as the winner of the New Hampshire primary, almost immediately upon the official close of all polls. To view the full county-by-county results which are still trickling in, head to TPM’s election scoreboard here.

With just days to go, the candidate drew increased scrutiny as fellow rivals played up the expectations game, saying that a victory short of as much as 50% of the vote was anything but. Democrats, on the other hand, picked up the pace in their attacks against Romney’s tenure at Bain Capital. The Romney campaign, meanwhile, tried to use the good news as a way in which to cleanse Mitt’s iffy jobs record on Bain.
