Rep. Alan Nunnelee (R-MS) endorsed Rick Santorum on Tuesday — the day of his state’s presidential primary — in a press release sent by the campaign.
“Rick Santorum understands that freedom means economic prosperity, strong families and communities that provide opportunities for all,” Nunnelee said in the press release. “His personal commitment and record of achievement show that not only does he live these values, but works to make them a reality for all Americans. I think Rick Santorum will make a great President and I look forward to voting for him on Tuesday.”
Also on Tuesday, Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley announced that he had voted for Santorum in his state’s primary — but then quickly posted a statement on Facebook to clarify that this was not to be considered as an endorsement.
