Michigan police closed the entrances to the state Capitol on Thursday after hundreds of people gathered to protest against so-called “right-to-work” legislation under debate by lawmakers inside. Several protesters were pepper-sprayed and arrested during the demonstration.
A local union, AFT Michigan, later obtained a court injunction to re-open the doors, the Detroit Free Press reports:
Zack Pohl, executive director of the liberal group Progress Michigan, said on Twitter that union officials had obtained a court injunction shortly before 4 p.m. to reopen the doors to the Capitol.
