Republicans are pushing a video clip of Democrat Michelle Nunn refusing to say whether she voted for President Barack Obama, arguing that it’s a carbon copy of an exchange where Kentucky Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Alison Lundergan Grimes was repeatedly (and refusing to say) whether she would vote for Obama.
The clip, released by the Republican-aligned opposition research shop America Rising, features Nunn walking while an America Rising tracker repeatedly asking her who she voted for.
“Ms. Nunn, did you vote for President Obama in 2008 and 2012?” the tracker asked.
Nunn ignored the tracker as she walked with supporters.
Conservatives compared it to an uncomfortable exchange with Grimes refusing to say to an editorial board whether she had voted for Obama, something conservatives had made hay of since she was a delegate for Hillary Clinton in 2008 and Obama in 2012.
