Donald Trump’s business lawyer said Thursday that Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) refusal to endorse his party’s nominee is unjustified and Cruz is nothing but a “whining baby.”
When asked in an interview on MSNBC about Cruz’s poorly received speech at the convention, Michael Cohen, special counsel to Trump and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, said Cruz should be punished by the party.
“Ted Cruz should be reprimanded by the RNC,” he said. “Last night he committed political suicide. I don’t think he should be entitled to run. It’s not the person that you want but they all should have come to the table and they all should have done what they were supposed to do. So not only did they lie to the RNC in the pledge, but they lied to the American people. We don’t need politicians like that anymore. “
When he was played a clip from Cruz’s Thursday morning speech to Texas delegates, in which Cruz cited Trump’s attacks on his wife and father for his lack of support, Cohen said Trump is the one who should feel personally offended.
“Everybody attacked Donald Trump during the entire lead up to the nomination almost on a daily basis, including Melania and the children,” he said. “That’s what politics have become. But Donald Trump didn’t malign Ted Cruz’s wife and at the end of the day your word is your word and you stand up for your word.”
“He’s looking for an excuse,” Cohen continued. “He’s looking for the difference between the two. He’s talking about an adult versus a whining baby.”
Cohen repeated his “baby” sentiment, calling for Cruz to be cast out from the Republican Party.
“He’s looking for an excuse,” he said. “He’s a whining baby who basically lied to the American public. He lied to the RNC. He should never, ever be endorsed by the party ever again.”

But wasn’t Mr. Trump saying just 2 or 3 days ago that it’s no longer Lyin’ Ted anymore? And that “Ted Cruz is a good man”? It’s so hard to keep up!
I know I’m not the first to notice this, but how weird is it that Ted Freaking Cruz, of all people, is the one guy at this convention who’s managed to display some semblance of self-respect?
See Donald some people don’t like playing the “DOZENS”.
" dozens
Playing the dozens is an African-American custom in which two competitors – usually males – go head to head in a competition of comedic trash talk. They take turns “cracking on,” or insulting, one another, their adversary’s mother or other family member until one of them has no comeback. In the U.S., the practice can be traced back to chattel slavery, when violence among slaves was a property crime with potentially draconian consequences. Verbal sparring became a substitute for physical contention. While the competition on its face is usually light-hearted, smiles sometimes mask real tensions. "
It’s weird when the lawyer for one Republican narcissist attacks another Republican narcissist. I suppose the political pond isn’t big enough for self-gazing.
He seems nice.
