Two opposing factions in the gun debate will meet at noon Friday in Aurora, Colorado to mark the first anniversary of the movie theatre massacre that left 12 dead during a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” last year.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns will host a memorial service at Cherry Creek State Park for victims of gun violence, while the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners will have a counter rally in support of Second Amendment rights, according to the Denver Post.

Victims of gun violence and some family members of those who were killed in the Aurora shooting are expected to attend the memorial, where they will speak to the crowd and read the names of gun violence victims from across the country. The reading of the names is expected to end at 12:38 a.m. Saturday–the exact time the shooting started in the movie theatre.
