Melania Trump, the wife of Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump, said that her husband’s words were offensive, but were not reflective of his treatment of women.

“The words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me. This does not represent the man that I know,” Melania Trump said. “He has the hope and mind of a leader. I hope people will accept his apology as I have and focus on the important issues facing our nation and the world.”

Melania’s statement came as Republican lawmakers began ditching Trump one after another.

Throughout the campaign, Melania has kept a relatively low profile. She spoke at the Republican convention on behalf of her husband, but was caught in a scandal after it was revealed she had plagiarized First Lady Michelle Obama’s previous convention speech.

  1. So, in Slovenia, it’s totally okay for a married man to hit on a married woman?

    Thanks for the clarification, dummy.

  2. “He has the hope and mind of a leader.”

Oh puh-leese. STFU, you skanky gold-digger.

  3. His words are unacceptable? Everybody already knew what a potty-mouth he was, surely.

It’s not the words, it’s the actions: sexual assault and, in the employment context, creating a hostile work environment.

I wonder how they had to twist her arm to say this. Or did they just release a statement in her name?

The other thing about this: Melania and the kids clearly knew that Trump was acting like this, and had a good idea before the campaign started that tapes like this were around. How effing stupid and crazy did they have to be to let him even get started?

Who did she steal this speech from?
