Fox News host Megyn Kelly joined her colleague Bill O’Reilly Monday night to discuss how the issue of vaccinations will have an impact on the 2016 race, where she declared her support for mandatory vaccination.

“In defense of those who have not vaccinated their children, they were given bad information years ago by a UK study that came out in 1998, but now there’s good information,” she said on “The O’Reilly Factor.”

She defended the “moderated” statements on vaccines from President Obama and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) a few years ago, but she said there’s no excuse for opposing vaccines now.

“Five years ago, the science wasn’t even as certain as it is today. It is very certain today,” she said.

O’Reilly agreed that vaccinations are safe, but then asked Kelly if she opposes mandatory vaccinations.

“No,” she responded. “And I want to say on the record, I have three children under the age of six. I vaccinated all of them. On time. As the doctor prescribed. Nothing was delayed.”

She said the concept of “Big Brother” would play into 2016 contenders’ views on vaccinations.

“It’s about Big Brother, but on the other hand, some things do require some involvement of Big Brother,” she said.

As ThinkProgress noted, Kelly’s colleague Sean Hannity said on Monday that he thinks “parents should have the choice” when it comes to vaccinating their kids, although he said his children were vaccinated.
