Fox News host Megyn Kelly told Variety in a piece published Tuesday that she has been prepared to ask Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for an interview, but that he “never stops with the attacks.”

Kelly and Trump have gone back and forth during his campaign for the presidency, with Trump repeatedly questioning her journalistic abilities. It publicly started after Kelly moderated a Fox News debate, and Trump said she had “blood coming out of her wherever.”

Kelly told Variety that she hoped Trump’s focused attacks on her would stop.

“To be honest, every time I prepare an invitation to sit down with him, he attacks me on Twitter or elsewhere. I had always been hoping I could reach out to him at a time when he wasn’t angry,” Kelly said. “I don’t think it would be a good interview if he was angry at me—but then he never stops with the attacks.”

Trump said at the end of March that he had given Kelly such a ratings boost that she owes him “at least half” of her salary. Kelly told the publication that she “laughed” when she read that he had made that remark. She wouldn’t say whether she thought it was sexist.

“I’ll say this. I earn every dime of my salary,” she said. “I won’t be giving it to anyone other than my three children.”

When asked if she was prepared to cover a brokered GOP convention, she responded “hell yes.”
