Fox News host Megyn Kelly on Monday night bashed media coverage of the Duggar family following allegations that Josh Duggar molested underage girls while he was a teenager.

After playing a CNN clip noting that several Republicans have posed for pictures with Josh Duggar in the past, Kelly lambasted the media for “trying to make this the problem of the Republican presidential field.”

“Bill Clinton was accused of rape. He has been accused by several women of sexually assaulting them,” Kelly said. “But the fact that a presidential candidate has posed with some random member of the family that’s going through this issue is somehow a problem for the GOP’ers?”

Fox’s Howard Kurtz, a guest on “The Kelly File,” said he was “disgusted by how some liberal media types are using what’s obviously a family tragedy to score political points.”

Kelly then lamented that law enforcement leaked Josh Duggar’s juvenile police records and criticized members of the media for still reporting heavily on the allegations.

“The media didn’t even pause and there is a question about why they were so excited to feast on this carcass,” she said.

“Well, sometimes people on the right feast on, when a liberal icon falls into trouble,” Kurtz responded.

Kelly also previewed her Wednesday interview with the Duggar family.

“This isn’t going to be a cross-examination of a family. It’s going to be an interview. I want to hear their story. And I think America wants to hear their story now,” she said.

Josh Duggar apologized and resigned from the Family Research Council last month after a 2006 police report detailing the allegations was leaked.
