Hewlett Packard CEO and top GOP fundraiser Meg Whitman will become the first Republican to hit the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton on Tuesday.

Whitman, who endorsed Clinton earlier this month, will meet with Colorado business leaders in Denver to discuss the Democratic nominee’s jobs plan, according to the Denver Post.

The HP executive has vocally criticized Donald Trump, calling him a “demagogue” who has “exploited anger, grievance, xenophobia and racial division.”

Whitman told the New York Times in August that to prevent his election she would pour all her energy into supporting Clinton.

“I will vote for Hillary, I will talk to my Republican friends about helping her, and I will donate to her campaign and try to raise money for her,” Whitman said.

The Times reported that the former secretary of state reached out to Whitman personally to seek her endorsement.

Other prominent Republican businesspeople supporting Clinton’s bid include Silicon Valley venture capitalist Marc Andreesen and former Goldman Sachs CEO and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. A slew of former GOP elected officials, writers and strategists have also vowed to support her campaign.

  1. Yep, keep trotting out the high profile GOP defectors, talking about why Drumpf would be a disaster.

  2. Hide HO’s cellphone, Kellyanne. There’s a twatterstorm a-comin’

  3. Hey, if Hillary can bring together the likes of Bernie Sanders and Meg Whitman, there may be hope for us (as a nation) yet.

  4. I hope she has pull in states other than California and Colorado. Who does she know in Florida?

  5. What is interesting here is that she is going whole hog – including financing and actively hitting the trail. It’s important when a high profile GOPer announces support for Hillary, but this is more than just saying “I’m gonna place the X by Hillary’s name”.

And @antisachetdethe is right – countdown to splatter-tweet running.

If it doesn’t happen shortly, maybe Donnie’s gastroenterologist doc, who apparently has overprescribed meds for patients for non-gastro uses, is now prescribing him sedatives…
