Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) said in a live radio interview on Tuesday that he plans to return the gifts he has received from a businessman and donor.

“Those gifts that I have in my possession, I am working with my counsel to be able to return,” McDonnell said in the WTOP interview.

In addition, McDonnell said, his eldest daughter, Jeanine McDonnell, has recently returned a wedding gift — reportedly a $10,000 check — from the donor, Jonnie Williams

McDonnell and his family have received thousands of dollars in gifts from Williams. Last week, McDonnell announced that he and his family had repaid $124,115.17 to Williams, to cover several loans given in recent years.
