The dining experience of one McDonald’s customer in Carteret County, N.C. took a bizarre turn recently when she reportedly found a swastika drawn in butter on her chicken sandwich.

New Bern, N.C. television station WCTI reported on Sunday that Charleigh Matice discovered the Nazi symbol drawn on the bun after opening up her sandwich to apply some mayo.

“I really didn’t have an appetite at that point so I said I rather have my money back,” Matice told WCTI.

The owner of the McDonald’s responded with a statement blaming an incident on an employee: “We are very sorry for the service that our customers received, and to be clear we have terminated the employee who was involved,” it read.

Despite the unpleasant experience, Matice didn’t hold it against McDonald’s now that the employee responsible has been punished.

“I’m a loyal customer and that’s why I don’t want people like that representing them,” she said.

Punked. Now, if this were a fish sandwich, I might believe it.

  5. Obviously, the chicken sandwich maker moonlights at Chick-Fil-A.
