Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is scheduled to fundraise for Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) next Wednesday.

McConnell will reportedly serve as the special guest at a fundraiser for Cochran, who just announced Friday that he would run for a seventh term. A Senate aide confirmed that McConnell is featured on an invitation for the fundraiser for Cochran.

McConnell’s decision to appear at the fundraiser for Cochran, made just after the senator from Mississippi decided to run for another term is a clear shot at the Senate Conservatives Fund, which has endorsed state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R), the tea party primary challenger to Cochran.

The Senate Conservatives Fund has also aggressively attacked McConnell and, in response, McConnell and the National Republican Senatorial Committee have waged something of a war against the conservative outside group.
