Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) unveiled her first general-election TV ad against Republican Rep. Todd Akin, a one-minute spot that casts him as outside the mainstream.
The ad shows video of Akin talking about various issues. On privatizing Social Security: “I don’t like it — I didn’t design Social Security”; on abolishing the minimum wage: “I don’t think the government should be setting the prices or wages on different things” and calling the federal student loans program “the equivalent of the stage-three cancer of socialism.”
