Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said Sunday that he looked forward to the nomination hearings for former Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE) who is nominated to be the next secretary of defense, saying he hasn’t made up his mind on how to vote.

Appearing on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” McCain laid out the questions he would ask  Hagel during the confirmation hearings. “What is his view on America’s role in the world? Whether he really believes that the surge was the worst blunder since the Vietnam War?” McCain said.

“I have always believed that a president deserves the right to choose his own team, but there are significant questions,” McCain said, referring to both Hagel and John Brennan, Obama’s pick to run the CIA.
