Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) made it clear Wednesday that he’s opposed to the elevation of Susan Rice to national security adviser, but still pledged to “make every effort” to cooperate with her.
Obviously I disagree w/ POTUS appointment of Susan Rice as Nat’l Security Adviser, but I’ll make every effort to work w/ her on imp’t issues

McCain emerged as one of Rice’s chief adversaries at a time when she was widely believed to be President Barack Obama’s top choice to serve as secretary of state. The Arizona Republican, along allies Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), pilloried Rice for using erroneous talking points on the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya when she made the Sunday show rounds last fall.
Ayotte likewise took to Twitter to offer a begrudging vow to work with Rice.
Amb Rice did a disservice to the nation when she made misleading stmts abt #Benghazi. However, its POTUS’ call & I’ll work with her going fwd
