Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg will host a fundraiser in support of the re-election campaign of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
The event will be held on Feb. 13 in the Palo Alto, Calif. home of Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan. Zuckerberg first met Christie in 2010, after the social media mogul made a $100 million donation to public schools in Newark, N.J. A spokeswoman for Facebook told the Journal that the two have worked closely since then and that Zuckerberg admires Christie’s “leadership on education reform and other issues.”
Boasting staggeringly high approval ratings and personal popularity, Christie is widely expected to breeze to re-election this year.
