Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said Wednesday that Rep. Cathy McMorris Rogers (R-WA) probably delivered a better GOP response to the State of the Union address than he previously did.

“It was probably better than mine. I didn’t see it, but I’m sure it was better,” he said at a Wall Street Journal breakfast, as quoted by The Hill. “How much water did she have?”

Rubio was the butt of many a joke after he awkwardly took a sip of water in the middle of delivering his rebuttal to the 2013 State of the Union.

The Florida Republican joked to reporters that he’s taking care of his hydration issues and “looking into an I.V.,” according to The Hill.

McMorris Rogers, speaking as the top-ranking woman in the House GOP caucus, was praised for offering an optimistic Republican response to Obama’s speech.
