After months of bitter sparing with the GOP presidential frontrunner on the campaign trail, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) may be warming to his former nemesis.

In an interview with a Florida newspaper, Rubio said Trump’s “performance has improved significantly” over recent weeks.

The senator also said this week if the real estate mogul comes close to the magic number of 1,237 delegates needed for the party’s nomination, he should get the nod.

“I do think it’s valid to argue to delegates: ‘Look, let’s not divide the party. You have someone here who has all these votes, very close to get 1,237, let’s not ignore the will of the people or they’re going to be angry,'” Rubio said.

He also said while his differences with Trump are “well documented,” he has maintained he would support the eventual GOP nominee.
