Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) just wants a conservative in the White House, and he said Tuesday his former GOP presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is the only candidate left standing that fits the bill.

“I hope that they’ll nominate a conservative,” Rubio said on conservative radio, according to ABC News. “The only one [presidential candidate] that fits that criteria is Ted Cruz.”

Rubio also dismissed Trump’s naming him as a potential pick for a general election ticket, saying, “I’m not going to be the vice president.”

The interview on Mark Levin’s radio show was one of Rubio’s first since leaving the 2016 race. Levin is a staunch supporter of Cruz and an avowed member of the #NeverTrump movement.
