A man shot a federal security guard and then killed himself on Friday afternoon at a federal building that also houses Rep. Jerry Nadler’s (D-NY) office in lower Manhattan.
NY1 News and the Wall Street Journal reported the suspect entered the federal building at 201 Varick St. and shot the officer before fatally shooting himself.
Local station PIX 11 reported the officer had been transported to a local hospital.
The federal building in New York City’s West Village is home to a Department of Justice immigration court and the city’s Department of Labor.
