New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan (D) on Monday announced that she will run for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire, challenging incumbent Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH).

Hassan announced her candidacy in a video touting her record as governor. She waited to announce her bid for Senate until she came to a budget agreement with the Republican-led legislature in New Hampshire.
