Good Christians shouldn’t make fun of the “mentally impaired,” Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX) said Friday morning, before launching into an extended riff on whether Hillary Clinton’s health has affected her judgement.

Gohmert said Clinton “has made clear she is mentally impaired,” to laughs from the crowd at the Value Voters Summit.

“This is not somebody you should be making fun of. I get the impression that in law school and along the way, she’s been very smart. But, I don’t know, maybe it was the concussion, the fall back when she did, or maybe, who knows, they won’t tell us what’s really going on with her,” he continued, referencing conspiracy theories that Clinton’s health is failing.

He also joked that maybe a staffer who destroyed her old cell phones with a hammer accidentally nailed her in the head.

“We need to be praying for Hillary Clinton,” he said. “There’s special needs, there’s mental impairment. I mean, seriously.”

The congressman went on to explain that saying Clinton’s brain “was still in a blender” during a Fox News appearance on Thursday, “was not a proper thing to say, because again, I’m making fun of the mentally impaired, and that’s not right.”
