Liz Cheney, Republican Senate candidate challenging Sen. Mike Enzi (R-WY) in 2014, on Sunday defended her stance on same-sex marriage.

Cheney’s sister Mary is married to a woman and has criticized her sister for her opposition to same sex marriage, but Liz Cheney stands by her beliefs.

“I love Mary very much. I love her family very much,” Liz Cheney said on “Fox News Sunday.” “This is just an issue on which we disagree.”

She also reiterated that she opposes a consitutional amendment banning same sex marriage because she feels it is a state issue.

A conservative super PAC has already attacked Cheney for appearing to be inconsistent on same-sex marriage.
