Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) will call for the Confederate flag to be removed from the South Carolina Capitol grounds, CNN reported on Monday.

Graham will make the announcement during a press conference at 4 p.m. ET on Monday, according to CNN.

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) will also appear at the press conference, and has also reportedly been working on a plan to remove the Confederate flag from the Capitol Grounds in Columbia.

After reports that the suspect who shot nine people at a historic black church in Charleston had white supremacist leanings, officials have renewed the debate over whether the state Capitol should fly the Confederate flag. A group of lawmakers and activists, including Democratic Charleston Mayor Joseph Riley, on Monday called for the flag to be removed from the Capitol grounds.

Don’t tell me the prosperity of treason in South Carolina may be about to end. Whatever will they have left to be proud of?
