Republican Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is planning its next coup: vying for the votes of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) supporters who say they won’t back Hillary Clinton in a general election.

“You have two candidates in Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders which have reignited a group of people who have been disenfranchised and disappointed with the way Washington, D.C. and career politicians have run the country,” campaign manager Corey Lewandowski told CNN on Friday.

“Bernie Sanders has large crowds – not as large as Mr. Trump’s, but large crowds – and so there is a level of excitement there for people about his messaging and we will bring those people in,” he also said.

Trump has long claimed his ability to garner support from Democrats and independents, but a recent poll found just 13 percent of Democratic-leaning voters who support Sanders have a favorable view of the outspoken billionaire.

  2. Who the hell are those 13 percent???

  3. Makes sense. They’re a lot alike. Both male. Both shout a lot. Both bald (although only one admits it). And… and…

From this independent dedicated voter who has strong feelings for his country:
NO FRIGGING WAY trump. You would be the last person I would vote for. I’ve posted before that you are the worst candidate for President in the 12 presidential elections I have voted in. Please, Donne, go back to fooling around with your hotels, your casinos, and doing deals with China. Leave the country to those skilled in governing.

Have I made it clear I’m not voting for Trump?

  5. He’ll get support from many in the rust belt. This AFL-CIO supported study says as much as 1 in 4 Democrats.

Working America, the political organizing arm of AFL-CIO, wanted to find out whether Trump’s “rightwing” message appealed to workers outside Cleveland and Pittsburgh. After interviewing about 1,689 working-class Americans living in households earning less than $75,000, they found out that Trump was in fact the favored candidate. Of the 800 voters who had decided on a candidate at the time of the interview, about 300 favored Trump. Combined, the two Democratic candidates appealed to fewer workers – 174 chose Clinton and 95 chose Sanders.

“While most of Trump’s support comes from the staunch Republican base, one in four Democrats who chose a candidate showed a preference for Trump,” said Working America’s report.
