Leahy Sworn In As Senate President Pro Tempore

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) was sworn in as president pro tempore of the Senate by Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday. As the longest serving Democrat in the Senate, Leahy is now third in line for presidential succession. Leahy succeeded Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-HI), who passed away on Monday.
