Lawyers for the civil rights organizations challenging Pennsylvania’s voter ID law said on Tuesday they have asked the state to withdraw or change advertisements educating voters about the law in light of a court ruling preventing parts of the it from being enforced in November.

“There is a concern on our side about the possibility of misinformation going out,” David Gersch, who represents the civil rights groups, told reporters during a conference call. “The court today said that there cannot be an ID requirement on Election Day. We have seen the commonwealth’s advertising, it’s already been produced for radio, for TV, for buses, and most of the ads, in fact, say you need ID on Election Day. That would be false to run at this time, and we are hopeful that the commonwealth will either pull those ads or make changes.”
