Host Larry Wilmore brought out glasses of orange juice and a pitcher of Kool-Aid on “The Nightly Show” to illustrate how hateful rhetoric can snowball — as it did in the case of the shooting at a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic.
“This is a glass of, let’s just call it crazy juice,” Wilmore said while bringing out a glass of orange juice on Monday’s show. “Now, some people’s glasses are already nearly full of crazy juice. They’re this close to the edge and there’s no room for anything else.”
But if you add Kool-Aid, aka the Baby Parts Haterade, Wilmore said, the glass overflows.
“Instead of doling out more Haterade, let’s work on draining the crazy juice,” he said. “Or let’s just drink water. Something without sugar. America’s got the diabetes.”
