Testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, National Rifle Association executive vice president Wayne LaPierre said he doubts that federal prosecutions of existing gun laws will increase under President Barack Obama, claiming that he he’s never seen active enforcement in his 20 years on Washington and “that’s the problem.”

“I will make you a bet with you right now,” LaPierre told Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) during the panel’s hearing on gun violence. “When President Obama leaves office four years from now, his prosecutions will not be much different than they are now.”
