Top White House adviser Kellyanne Conway said Wednesday that President Donald Trump — who has attached his name to real estate projects, bottled water and a discontinued line of steaks — has not said that he wants to do the same with House Republicans’ Obamacare repeal bill.
“I do want to say this is a piece of legislation also that has presidential leadership,” Conway said on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom.”
She said that President Donald Trump “is really husbanding” the health care bill through the legislative process.
“If that’s the case, Sean Spicer was asked numerous times yesterday if we call it Trumpcare now,” Fox host Bill Hemmer asked. “If this passes, or when it passes, as you just described there, is it by any other name Trumpcare?”
“It’s the AHCA and I think it’s aptly named,” Conway said.
She said the bill is “serious business” and “isn’t about branding according to someone’s name.”
“This is serious stuff,” Conway said. “I’ll call it Trumpcare if you want to, but I didn’t hear President Trump say to any of us, ‘hey, I want my name on that.'”
Translation: Even Donald Trump can recognize a steaming pile of shit when he sees it and refuse to be associated with it.
From now on they will call it “Obamacare 2.0” just to try to keep the stink off of them (or RyanCare so they can stick it to Paul Ryan.)
Ya mean like they asked Obama?
Sorry. You don’t get to say. You named ACA Obamacare in a very derisive manner. I don’t recall President Obama said he wanted his name on the bill. It will be called Trumpcare whether you say so or not. It will fail.
DrumpfCare!
Obama did not go out calling it Obamacare. It was a slander term used by conservatives. I do not see a difference now. Obama called it the Affordable Care Act.
