Shortly after Donald Trump offhandedly remarked at a Tuesday campaign event that “Second Amendment people” might be able to stop Hillary Clinton from appointing Supreme Court judges, which was widely read as an allusion to violence against Clinton, Trump spokesman Katrina Pierson tried to spin the remarks.

Appearing on CNN, Pierson pointed to a “clarification” statement released by the campaign shortly after the remarks. But she emphasized the threat of Clinton appointing pro-gun control justices to the Supreme Court if she’s elected.

“Hillary Clinton is a gun grabber, and everyone knows that if she’s in a position to appoint Supreme Court justices, she will do everything she can to remove the Second Amendment,” Pierson said.

She also insisted that Trump was referring to unification and getting voters to turn out on Election Day in his remarks.

Pressed by CNN’s Jake Tapper about why Trump couldn’t just own up and admit he “misspoke,” Pierson pointed to the campaign’s statement.

“I think you just saw a clarification come out from the campaign talking about exactly what he meant to say,” she said. “He was talking about unification and coming together to stop Hillary Clinton.”

  1. But are there any guns left to grab? I mean, Obama has taken all of them, picking up the remains of Bill Clinton’s grab of 20 years ago.

    This person is a real…clunt.

  2. Do not piss on me and tell me it’s raining, TRUMPSPOX. I’m not one of his idiot supporters.

  3. Avatar for trnc trnc says:

The Orlando NBC affiliate just reported the “scandal” that Omar Mateen’s father was at a Clinton rally. No mention of Trump inciting his supporters to assassinate her.

  4. Make no mistake: this is on the exact level of

"Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?"

And then act completely shocked when a bullet is found in Clinton’s head. We’ve long since crossed the Rubicon and we should prepare for an outcome…

  5. If you are explaining that your candidate did not actually advocate the assassination of his rival, you are losing.
