John Kasich speaks during the daily news briefing at the White House in Washington. Kasich announced Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, that he was suspending Wells Fargo from doing business with state agencies, and excluding the bank from participating in any state bond offerings. The bank has been under fire after allegations came to light that Wells employees may have opened up to 2 million customer accounts fraudulently in order to meet sales goals. Former Republican presidential candidate Ohio Gov. John Kasich did not vote for Donald Trump for president and instead wrote in Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), the party’s 2008 nominee, Cleveland.com reported.

Kasich has refused to back Trump throughout the election.

“The divisiveness, the division, the name calling it just doesn’t go down well with me,” he said in June after Trump attacked a federal judge’s Mexican heritage.

And in August, Kasich said that Trump would struggle to win in Ohio, suggesting that the GOP nominee is divisive.

“He’s going to win parts of Ohio where people are really hurting and where people of both parties have failed to fix our education system,” Kasich said on CNN at the time. “But I still think it’s difficult if you are dividing to be able to win in Ohio. I think it’s really, really difficult.”
