Republican presidential candiate Ohio Gov. John Kasich said Sunday that he thought rival Donald Trump would win the Super Tuesday contests, but that he has his own campaign plan.

Trump is expected to do well in the Southern-dominated states on Tuesday, where he has consistently polled at the top.

“I think Trump’s probably going to win probably all of them. But you keep holding your own, and we have our campaign plan,” Kasich said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I mean, everybody has to do it the way they want to do it. Our way of doing it — our campaign plan was ultimately to, you know, hold our own in some of these places, and we will, I expect.”

  1. John Kasich seems so decent and mature in comparison to the other foolish, bombastic, and untutorable fraternity boys still in the race. Kasich/Haley against Hillary/Warren (or Biden/Warren should a true bombshell blow Hillary off the tracks) would at least offer a chance of discussing and choosing among serious policy alternatives aimed at the real threats facing this nation. The list of threats includes the messages of Trump, Rubio, and Cruz as well as the men themselves. The Republican Party today has become nothing more than a shadow of its best former self (Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush). Sadly, no matter the age of who is chosen to front it, it has become the GOD (Greedy Old Demagogues) party. Easy for all to see. I personally doubt that God is pleased. He (or she) apparently doesn’t take careless impersonation well.

I confess that I am of two minds in regards to Trump. On one hand, my investment in popcorn futures has paid off handsomely; on the other, if he is elected, I will have to spend my earnings in Canada. Sigh.

I could be wrong, but I haven’t seen him polling better than 3rd anywhere this coming Tuesday and most of the states have double digit thresholds a candidate must meet to win any delegates. Kasich could get skunked next Tuesday.

Add: A quick poll check shows Kasich polling 3rd in Massachusetts, no better than 4th anyplace else and in 5th behind Carson in.some. He should drop out after Tuesday to avoid being embarrassed by Trump in Ohio.

  4. Yeah…there isn’t going to be a Kasich/Haley ticket. Kasich isn’t going to be on the top of any ticket. And Warren isn’t going to be on the Democratic ticket, which despite your unwillingness to admit it, is going to have Hillary at the top of it. I mean seriously…still trying to prop up Biden as the Democratic candidate??

The only state on Tuesday that is in question regarding Trump is Texas. And if Trump wins that,Cruz no longer has any realistic map to Cleveland. Polling shows a slight Cruz lead to a statistical tie. Every other state shows Trump with a pretty hefty lead.

Is this another case of, Yes! I won! I finished third!

Thanks Marco for starting this meme. I thought Republicans hated participation trophies.
